Our 35-Year Journey
Our journey began 35 years ago, at a time when the road ahead was not clearly marked on any map. Not because we lacked a sense of direction, but because the circumstances made starting any business—especially an IT company in Bosnia and Herzegovina—exceptionally challenging.
We moved forward step by step, building knowledge, earning the trust of our clients, and learning from our mistakes. Every obstacle became a lesson and every new client an opportunity to prove what our solutions can deliver. Over time, the path led us from a small family business to a regional leader in the IT sector. We moved beyond local borders and delivered projects that established our presence on the global market.
Today, with 450 employees and projects across five continents, we continue our journey with clear goals and a global roadmap in front of us. Our platform of digital brands grows every day, driven by a belief in the power of technology to improve everyday life.

1990
The Beginning
‣ LANACO was founded in Banja Luka and later in Sarajevo.
1997
First Commercial Internet Provider
‣ We developed Inecco, the first commercial internet service provider in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in the following years focused intensively on the hardware industry.
2001
Software Development
‣ We established the Software Development Department. This marked a strategically important moment for the company, as we began developing complex software solutions.
2002
First ERP Solution
‣ We developed the first version of our ERP solution, which was implemented in more than 50 large enterprises, government institutions, and organizations across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
2004
ISO Standards
‣ We confirmed a high level of quality and compliance with globally recognized standards through the implementation and certification of ISO standards.
2006
Education
‣ We established the IT Solutions and Education Department, which later evolved into a department dedicated to external client training.
‣ We organized our first internship program for students of technical sciences.
‣ We delivered our first distance learning initiative using a wireless WiMAX network.
2008
Development of Eduis
‣ We began developing Eduis, an information system for managing primary and secondary schools, which today has more than 500,000 users worldwide.
2009
Biometric Travel Documents
‣ In cooperation with Bundesdruckerei, we implemented a biometric travel document system.
2011
First Data Center in Bosnia and Herzegovina
‣ We designed and launched the first data center for the public sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
2012
Advanced Solutions
‣ We developed a central information system for data processing and secure storage of duplicate civil registry records.
‣ Intel recognized the DosITej project and featured it as a global best practice case study.
2013
International Market
‣ We established a company in Belgrade, expanding our business operations to the Serbian market.
‣ For the first time, we presented the DosITej project and the Eduis solution on the international stage at the BETT Show in London.
2014
Excellence in Practice
‣ The University of Cambridge included LANACO, along with the DosITej and Eduis projects, in its 50th anniversary publication Guide to Excellence.
2015
Accreditation
‣ We obtained accredited education institution status and became the first and only PMI R.E.P. center in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
2016
LANACO Technology Center
‣ We received Microsoft’s Partner of the Year award.
‣ We opened the LANACO Technology Center, a unique space for technological innovation and the first smart building in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
‣ Together with Schneider Electric, the LANACO Technology Center presented the LANACO Data Center in Banja Luka, built in line with Tier IV standards.
2017
Founding of Itivity
‣ We founded Itivity, a software academy based on an innovative education model focused on faster, higher-quality knowledge acquisition and employment.
2018
London Stock Exchange ELITE Certificate
‣ We received certification from the London Stock Exchange ELITE program. Two years earlier, we were selected as the first company from Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the ELITE program, positioning us among the 50 most prestigious companies in Europe.
2019
New International Partnerships
‣ We became a partner of MHP, a Porsche company for the development of IT solutions.
‣ We became the first company from Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the Digital Supply Chain Institute.
2020
America and Africa
‣ We founded Downstream and expanded our operations to the United States market.
‣ We expanded into the African market through the implementation of Eduis in primary schools across Nigeria.
2021
Asia
‣ We became a member of the Science and Technology Park Novi Sad.
‣ We expanded our operations into the Asian market, with a focus on implementing Eduis.
2022
Europe and Australia
‣ We began cooperation with G Solutions Group from Serbia and Halcyon Migrate from the United Kingdom.
‣ We became the first company in the region to develop software for submitting and managing NCTS-5 transit declarations. Its implementation on Oracle Cloud marked the first such solution in Europe.
‣ We expanded our operations to the Australian market, where we distributed solutions from our own portfolio and developed LMS, ACS, and PSIM solutions.
2024
From the United States to Tanzania
‣ We officially launched the AppFusion platform on the US market.
‣ We initiated a partnership with Rasello aimed at establishing digital government and a blue economy concept in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
‣ We organized the 10th TechHosted conference, the largest multi-vendor event in the region.
2025
Strategic Agreements
‣ In cooperation with the Cyber Readiness Institute from New York, we launched a cybersecurity program in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
‣ We signed a strategic agreement with the Association of Professional Social Compliance Auditors (APSCA) from Washington to develop a global data exchange platform.
