LANACO through the “Student Expert Practice” program for twelve years in a row provides students from technical, and from this year also economic sciences, to gain their first practical experiences in a dynamic environment.
This practice is organized in the summer months, and the place maintenance is LANACO Technology Center in Banja Luka.
With the support and supervision of the mentor of our company, eighteen students from the Republic of Serbia, Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina has been given the opportunity to take the first steps in the course of their development within a month of our company.
Snezana Aslantski, a student of the Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” from Zrenjanin, is one of the students of this year’s student practice.
I applied for professional practice in order to gain new experience, knowledge and team work on projects with other students and IT experts from LANACO. About the practice itself and LANACO I received the first information from the students who gave me the recommendation, Snežana said.
LANACO gives students the opportunity to step into the realm of IT industry at the right time and in the right way.
When I saw an ad on the site of my faculty, I was interested in participating in LANACO’s professional practice. Since software engineering is an area I want to address in the future, I think this is an ideal opportunity to improve existing and gain new knowledge in the field of software development. So far I have not had the opportunity to be part of the software development team, from its specifications and requirements, to the final training of users for our product, said Nikola Samardzija, a student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of East Sarajevo.
During practice, students have their mentors and during the first working week define the activity plan for the duration of the practice, as well as the goals to be achieved.
For students this practice represents the opportunity to get acquainted with life within the company, working methods, as well as to gain practical knowledge in the areas they have chosen for their future call.
These young people with their ideas and new approach to business contribute to the Company, while more experienced colleagues adopt useful tips and guidelines for further career development.
The practitioners will go through the entire process of developing a software solution, which will later be donated for humanitarian purposes. Before us is a period of challenges, new solutions, team work and nice gathering, Miljan Škipina, mentor of this year’s professional practice, pointed out.
We believe in these young people and look forward to new shared ideas, but also to thoughtful solutions.
