Today, at the dean’s office of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Banja Luka, the agreement on business-technical cooperation between the City of Banja Luka, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Banja Luka and the LANACO Company was signed.
The agreement on business and technical cooperation was signed by the Mayor of Banja Luka, Igor Radojicic, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Banja Luka, prof. Dr. Branko Blanuša and general manager of LANACO Nebojša Ninić.
Mayor of Banja Luka, Igor Radojicic, said today that one of the strategic goals of the city administration is the transformation of Banja Luka into a “smart city”, which implies the digitization of a various of services.
This means the modernization of City services and the way to electronic services. Modernization of utility services today is actually a series of mobile applications that are an indispensable part of it, Radojičić said.
This agreement includes series of measures and activities in the areas of development of human resources, research in this field, creation of an adequate software platform and solutions that are necessary for the development of the concept of electronic administration, and work on digital transformation of local self-government and economy.
The Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Branko Blanuša, said that the faculty will contribute to implementation of the agreement through quality training of human resources, then through retraining and additional training programs and conceiving of joint projects with the City and our company. He also mentioned that it was planned to establish a coordination transformation team that will deal with the design of various projects in this field.
Our company’s director, Nebojsa Ninic, said that LANACO has the largest human resource base in the field of information technology and can make a major contribution to the development of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the city in general.
Cooperation will certainly improve the quality of studies and contribute to better education of future engineers. Students will have the opportunity to gain good theoretical knowledge, but, more importantly, they will have the opportunity to get quality practice on the latest technologies, because we have the first smart building in BiH and the largest DATA center, concluded Ninić.
Thanks to this cooperation, the development of IT professionals in the field of IT will be further strengthened, the capacities of information and communication technologies of the City will be improved, the cooperation of the academic community, the city and the economy will be strengthened, and many other benefits defined by the agreement will be achieved.
